    Reindeer Lodge Covid-19 safety information

It's been a pretty strange year for everyone and we'd like to give our visitors something to really look forward to this December, with a SAFE and enchanted drive through adventure at the Reindeer Lodge.

Due to the recent increase in Covid-19 infection rates and the uncertainty of what activities will now be permitted by December we have taken the decision change this year's package to a drive-thru experience that you can enjoy from the safety of your own vehicle.

With grotto visits not being possible in the same room as Father Christmas without facemasks and the likelihood of activities like our indoor Stage show, face painting, donkey rides and contact with our reindeer not being permitted this year we have created a new Covid-safe package for Christmas 2020. But it's not all bad news, we're really excited about the magical experience we can still offer for this year as our elves' imaginations run wild with lighting, special effects, a new Drive-in Theatre show and drive-thru Toy Workshop, a new home to visit Santa and lots of other surprises along the way to wow visitors and create an immersive and enchanting drive through experience.

We will be following guidelines from the Welsh Government and also implementing our own additional measures to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff during your visit.

If you are travelling with vulnerable passengers in your vehicle we are able to offer a full contactless 'windows up' experience for your safety, which includes holding up entry tickets (screen shot or print out) to your window on check in, Audio for our experience will be transmitted directly to your car radio and if you choose not to, you do not have to engage with any of the characters around the attraction, including Santa. If you do require assistance at any point please put on your hazard warning lights and we will approach you.

Activities and facilities offered are subject to change in line with Welsh Government Covid-19 guidelines so please check for updates of our safety measures again before travelling. Visitors will also be notified of our latest procedures on arrival.

Our Covid-19 safety measures include:

  • Entry is by pre-booked ticket holders only. Our ticketing company will retain your name and contact details for Covid-19 Track and Trace purposes.

  • We will be operating a drive-thru only experience this year where visitors can remain in the safety of their own car bubble. Screen shots of your ticket or ticket print outs can be help up to your vehicle window on check in.

  • Before travelling and on arrival visitors will be given details of our latest procedures and map of the attraction.

  • Visitors are asked not to arrive earlier than their booked ticket time to avoid any congestion and reduce visitor numbers on site.

  • Visitors must remain in their vehicles at all times unless using the toilet facilities. There will be drive-thru food outlets and parking food service available to your car door.

  • There is a strict one way system around the whole site to avoid congestion.

  • We have Covid-19 trained cleaners for all contact, food and toilet areas of the attraction. Toilet facilities are on a continuous cleaning regime to ensure their cleanliness.

  • All staff are all temperature checked and safety briefed daily on their arrival and operate within staff bubbles.

  • As an outdoor attraction face masks are not presently required, however we do encourage their use where you have your vehicle windows open, this may become compulsory in line with Welsh Government guidelines.

  • Hand sanitiser stations are provided at all toilet and shared contact areas and visitor usage is required before and after usage.

  • All food and serving staff are Covid-19 trained.

  • Protection screens are fitted to serving counters and serving areas and counter tops are routinely sanitised.

  • Contactless payment is preferred for all on site transactions including, food, drink, retail and photographs. Chip and PIN and cash may still be used with shared contact surfaces sanitised between use.

  • Visits to meet with Father Christmas are restricted to one vehicle at a time and Father Christmas will remain 2m outdoors away from your vehicle.

  • There will be no physical contact between visitors and Father Christmas and we kindly ask visitors to remain in their vehicles. Photographs with Father Christmas are still available via a digital prints available on the day.

We look forward to welcoming visitors for a safe visit this December and if you have any safety concerns during your visit please raise them with a member of staff on the day so we can deal with them immediately.

Stay safe everyone and we look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you.
